Communication skills in construction are imperative. Attend this course and learn email communication strategies, basic business communication etiquette, managing confrontation, handling awkward communication situations, selling as a non-salesperson, presentation skills and time management. Learn the purpose of the lien law, how it applies to you, and the process for preserving lien rights. Each participant will receive a packet of sample lien forms along with the handouts. Industry employees involved in the lien law process, especially billing and receivables, should know the requirements of the Ohio Mechanics' Lien Law to prevent future legal problems and unnecessary costs.

New Technologies in Construction
This one-day course will highlight technologies that are both beneficial to a jobsite and new to the industry. The benefits and uses of 3-D laser surveying using point clouds and a demonstration of the machine will be shown along with examples of how it can support a project and improve efficiency.

Preliminary
and Construction Surveying (Building Layout Skills in Construction)*
Staking out a building
layout may be fundamental to surveyors, but other construction employees
– superintendents and foremen working for general contractors,
excavation, paving, and utility contractors – benefit from learning the
concepts and equipment behind basic building layout.
The course encourages students to develop the ability to spot problems and improve accuracy during the building layout phase, which can prevent costly delays later in a project.
